An Ontario weather map shows you live conditions, radar, and warnings across the province in one view. The system above updates from Environment and Climate Change Canada, combining satellite imagery, surface observations, and the latest alerts so you can see what is moving through your region right now.

What does the Ontario weather map show?

The interactive map pulls together several layers. The base layer is a satellite view of cloud cover, which you can switch to radar to see where rain or snow is falling. Overlaid on that are station icons: click any city in the live conditions above for current temperature, wind, and humidity. The map also colour-codes areas under watch or warning, making it easy to spot where conditions are severe. You can toggle between a simple regional view and a high-resolution loop that tracks storms over the past few hours.

How do I read the radar and satellite data?

Green and blue patches on the radar indicate light to moderate precipitation; yellow, orange, and red show heavier rain or snow. The satellite layer uses infrared to measure cloud-top temperatures — colder, brighter clouds often mean stronger storms forming. If you see a band of colour sweeping west to east across southern Ontario, that is a classic Great Lakes system moving through. For northern Ontario, the map also picks up lake-effect snow bands off Hudson Bay and Georgian Bay during winter months.
